Southport
Southport North Carolina is located between Wilmington to the north and Myrtle Beach to the south, just at the mouth of the Cape Fear River. Southport is close to the Intra-Coastal Water Way which is feed by the Atlantic. Southport was first established in 1754 as Fort Johnston, North Carolina’s first Fort. In 1792 it became Smithville and later renamed Southport. Southport was once North Carolina’s largest and busiest port.
Southport is now alive again with its Oak lined streets, charming architecture and quaint shops. Southport is home to antique shops, a River-Walk, a waterfront park, historic homes, magnificent views, fine dinning, a Yacht Basin with a marina and The Southport Maritime Museum.
